Advise Media Consulting, an independent media auditing firm serving advertisers and agencies globally
Advise Media Suite is a platform for advertisers and media agencies offering automated management of pitch and performance tracking projects. It gives media auditors transparency and control over media budgets and KPIs across classic and digital media channels globally.
The client, Advise Media Consulting, an independent media auditing firm, came to TMS with a vision and no existing codebase. The platform needed to digitise a process that advertisers and agencies had previously managed manually in Excel spreadsheets: tracking pitch projects, monitoring campaign performance, comparing media channel spend, and generating audit-ready reports.
TMS built the application from scratch using Node.js and React, delivering the first pre-release in July 2020 covering the full Pitch Management flow.
The domain complexity of media auditing required deep business analysis before any code was written.
Media auditing involves specialised terminology, multi-layered campaign structures, and country-specific media channel definitions. The team had to learn the domain from the client before designing the data model. TMS conducted extensive business analysis sessions to map the workflow.
The platform needed to handle media channels, currencies, and market definitions that vary across countries. Classic media (TV, print, radio, out-of-home) and digital media (programmatic, social, search) each required distinct data structures and reporting logic.
Building a flexible KPI tracking engine that could compare agency performance across campaigns, channels, and markets, without hardcoding every metric, was the core engineering challenge. The system had to support custom KPI definitions per project.
With a six-month timeline to first release, the team had to balance rapid feature delivery with the data integrity standards an auditing platform demands. Bug triage and detailed testing were embedded in every sprint, not deferred to a final QA phase.
Development began in early 2020 with a discovery phase focused on understanding the media auditing workflow. TMS engineers shadowed the client's auditors to learn how pitch projects were structured, how performance data was collected, and what reports clients expected.
The first pre-release shipped in July 2020, covering the full Pitch Management flow, the core module that lets auditors create pitch projects, define media channels, and track KPIs across agencies and markets.
After the initial release, development continued through 2021 and beyond, expanding the Performance Tracking module with deeper data visualisation, multi-market reporting, and integration with external media data sources.
The platform has been in continuous use since launch, with TMS providing ongoing support and enhancement as the client's user base and feature requirements grow.
What shipped, and what it changed for the client.
The Advise Media Suite shipped its first pre-release in July 2020 covering the full Pitch Management flow. The platform digitised a process that advertisers and agencies previously managed manually in Excel, giving auditors a single interface for KPI tracking, budget monitoring, and agency performance measurement across classic and digital media channels globally.
The platform enabled Advise Media Consulting to scale their auditing practice, handling more clients and more markets without proportionally growing their analyst team. The structured data model meant audit reports that previously took days to assemble could be generated in hours.
